The Data Centre sector is growing at pace, with providers looking to expand services globally to increase market share and provide value to shareholders. In addition to increased demand, technology has continued to evolve at pace and so how data centre providers deliver value to its clients is also a key area in the battle for increased market share.

CHALLENGE

  • Following recent change in ownership and a new strategic vision, our client wanted to create more autonomous operations from its parent company.

  • Our client’s existing processes and systems were complex, having evolved over periods where data centres was a secondary component of the main business.

  • The Data Centre business strategy was focused on growth, beyond the existing European operations, mostly across Asia.

APPROACH

  • A team from Typhoon undertook a comprehensive review of the new strategy and facilitated workshops to align the leadership team.

  • Undertook a rapid assessment of current processes and systems through three filters: ‘pain points’, ‘strategic alignment’ and ‘shared with parent’.

  • Led the prioritisation of transformation initiatives to meet business requirements including the implementation of a new Lead-to-Bill process.

OUTCOME

  • Launched a new Lead-to-Bill processes and systems in Europe and Asia, working effectively with third-party vendors.

  • Delivered an operating model which has increased control, enhanced efficiency and which enabled better management of customers and financials.

  • Created an operating model which allows the business to grow sustainably.
