As a Typhoon Consultant you will provide strategic, unbiased and objective advisory services to our clients to help them deliver improved business performance. You will be responsible for analysis and research work (market intelligence, presenting of findings), content creation (thought leadership, blog posts, case study development) and presenting findings and recommendations to clients. Often, you will further implement recommendations/solutions and ensure the client receives the necessary assistance to carry it all out. The most important thing for Consultants at Typhoon is the autonomy they are provided to go about their work, allowing space for innovative and novel ideas in solving our clients’ strategic and operational issues.

 

As a Senior Consultant you begin to take more responsibility, sometimes being the day-to-day contact for a client – although you will still have the support of a Typhoon Manager or Senior Manager. You will have more junior consultants and client staff working for you and you are responsible for ensuring that outcomes are delivered in accordance with the engagement contract and project plan. You may be responsible for the entirety of smaller projects or workstreams on larger engagements. You will support business development activities through managing consultant extensions and identifying new client opportunities that meet Typhoon’s capabilities.

 

Managers are responsible for the business analysis, project management, and software development staff within the project team, taking the lead on complex projects. They are accountable for the planning, structuring and execution of such projects. You must be able to manage teams across multiple sites/countries and create a sense of teamwork by pulling together the different members of the project teams who may be unrelated and dissimilar. You will manage the budget on behalf of the client; monitor expenditure and costs against deliverables and realised benefits as the project develops. You ensure that the delivery of new products and/or services from the projects are to the appropriate level of quality, on time and within budget, according to the project plan, communicating regularly to relevant client stakeholders. You will lead some business development activities such as writing proposals and contributing to client pitch meetings.

 

As a Senior Manager, you will drive and lead projects and/or workstreams through the full project lifecycle, engaging directly with stakeholders at all levels of an organisation and managing client relationships. You will assist with writing and presenting proposals for clients, lead and develop staff within the project team and take responsibility for the quality assurance and overall integrity of the project. You will have the opportunity to work across a variety of business units and functions with flexibility to apply your transferable skills to new assignments and will have autonomy; your inputs and ideas will be encouraged in an environment where there is little bureaucracy. You will be responsible for managing client accounts on a day-to-day basis and owning relationships upto C-suite and Board level.

 

As a Director, you must have significant experience in in solving business problems through delivering value added solutions with an excellent breadth of thinking and be able to provide pragmatic solutions that consider all relevant constraints whether technical, financial, organisational, risk, or capability based. You must demonstrate up-to-date industry knowledge regarding industry trends and emerging technologies in anticipation of new business processes and system alterations and how these can be applied. You will act as a coach, mentor, and advisor for our Consultants, manage teams across multiple sites/countries and be able to create a sense of teamwork with disparate members of project teams that may include multiple third parties. You will own part of the company’s profit and loss account and be responsible for revenues in excess of US$2m per year and a team of upto 10 Typhoon consultants.
